Commissar in Chief

I guess Robert Romano sent this out before David Horowitz put up his essay yesterday warning against "Obama Derangement Syndrome":

New Order

Romano says a "new order" has arrived in America:

This new order is decidedly fascist, and it will rapidly proceed to being outright socialist. First, the monster will subsidize, then it will take ownership, and then it will destroy the American economy.
But check out Investor's Business Daily as well, "Meet The New Boss":

A president of the United States orders the chief executive officer of General Motors to resign. The same president is further ordering Chrysler to merge with Fiat, the Italian firm specializing in flimsy cardboard boxes on wheels.

This new reality should send a chill down the spines of all Americans. The federal government has begun to run U.S. companies.

President Obama said Monday, "my team will be working closely with GM to produce a better business plan."

To that confident assertion he added these stern sentiments:

"They must ask themselves: Have they consolidated enough unprofitable brands? Have they cleaned up their balance sheets, or are they still saddled with so much debt that they can't make future investments? Above all, have they created a credible model for how not only to survive, but to succeed in this competitive global market?"

Who is in a better position to know the answers to these questions? Rick Wagoner, the GM CEO for nine years and former GM chief financial officer who has been with the automaker since the late 1970s, even running one of its foreign affiliates in Brazil, and who holds a Harvard Business School MBA?

Or President Obama, a former community activist from the south side of Chicago with a great rhetorical gift?

The president answered that question this week by ordering Wagoner's firing.

Imagine if it were not GM, but your own small business employing a handful of people.
I've long refrained from attacking Barack Obama for his totalitaraian inclinations, and I recently praised President Obama on his "pragmatism" in foreign policy; but this administration's recent moves on the economy are simply breathtaking in the centralization of power in the bureaucratic state. It's no wonder those tea parties keep growing.

Related: Via Memeorandum, David Brooks dubs the president "Car Dealer in Chief," but I like "commissar" better. See also, Law and Order Teacher, "Nationalization Continues."

Dr.D,
Thanks for the link. This is getting kind of nerve-wracking, eh?

Well, I show a few photos of what Chrysler will become under Fiat. Check it out:

I like it-cardboard boxes on wheels! BTW, remember that Fiat could not make this market back in the 70s. What makes Car Czar-In-Chief Obama think they can do it a second time? UGH!

I disagree this isn't OBS like the BDS of the last eight years, no one is attacking Obama, they are attacking his policies, with BDS the attacks were personal, look at how much fun they made of Bush, then ask why should Obama expect anything less. Obama has spent more in the first 100 days than Bush did in 8 years, wait till inflation gets added to the mix, then when the baby boomers start retiring if they can afford to. We are in the early stages of a lot of hurt.

My ODS kicked in the day it became apparent that John McCain was going to lose. Since January 20th, it has become acute.

I must admit I am having great difficulty understanding why so many did not see this coming.

This man has been surrounded by far-left, free-market hating radicals his entire live. He was mentored by a devout communist, and later befriended a wanton terrorist who was willing to kill innocent human beings to make his point, and to this day has refused to renounce his past.

He sat in a "church" for two decades run by a black seperatist who has no love for anyone or this country.

Not once since Obama announced his intention to run did the word
freedom ever pass his lips.

His campaign coffers were filled to overflowing by a shady Greek gazillionaire with a history of currency manipulation, and who just happens to be one of the most virulent America-haters alive today.

He has to date spent nearly $1 million to prevent large chunks of his history from being brought to light, particularly his academic records, as well as his real birth records.

He went to court during his presidential campaign in an effort to try and silence certain of his critics.

His first TV interview after becoming POTUS was with an Arab station.

Not one person on his "economic" team has ever so much as held a garage sale, much less run anything resembling a real business, large or small.

I could go on.

There were red flags (no pun intended) aplenty when it came to the true nature of this man who three years ago, no one had really even heard of, but somehow managed to get himself elected to the most powerful office on the planet.

Let's face it, we still do not know exactly who (or what) this man really is.

As I see it, and judging from his actions alone since the inauguration, Barack Hussein Obama represents the single greatest threat to our way of life, our freedoms and liberties, and to the continued existence of this country in any condition resembling the America we know, than any other person who has ever lived.

And that includes Hideki Tojo and Adolf Hitler.

Over a year ago, myself and a handful of members posted on another blog that, should Obama get elected with a dem congress, what was essentially going to amount to a lightning-quick Marxist coup would be underway before the chair behind the desk in the Oval Office was even warm.

Our myriad Obamabot trolls laughed hysterically, as did even some of our conservative friends.

Funny, the Obamabot trolls have all but disappeared now, and the conservatives who were once so amused aren't laughing anymore.

Dave, I agree with everything you wrote. The people who voted for this marketed empty suit, trained teleprompter puppet Obama should be ashamed of themselves as Americans. I assume they are feeling pretty proud right now that they will be paying much higher taxes for their socialist/global warming/wealth distribution agenda! Personally, I am going John Gault...see ya!

Bwa-ha-ha-ha! You nailed it, Dave: worse than Hitler. I've bumped you up the list. You'll now be one of the first to be put into the camps. Good luck being taken seriously by thinking adults for the rest of your life, genius...
